When someone asks me for a reference to learn English, I always say "Grammar in Use is the best choice! Just go check the contents of each book, and start with the one that you think is suitable for you. I also really enjoyed the images and different types of questions used in the book for better understanding of the material. I first bought it about 8 years ago, when my English teacher at school recommended it. Modeled on Raymond Murphys highly successful Intermediate English Grammar, it concentrates on areas of grammar normally taught at elementary level.
I think this is just the perfect book for learning English grammar. Essential English Grammar 2/E - Essential English Grammar is a grammar reference and practice book for elementary learners.
